Building GrandClave: Testing a New Executive Relationship Category

This September, Lena Benjamin begins testing GrandClave with 30 Founding Partners, exploring how Executive Relationship Intelligence can help organisations turn strategic relationships into measurable commercial outcomes.

Some ventures begin with a fully formed proposition. Others begin with a strategic question worth testing.

GrandClave is being built around one such question: what could happen if executive relationships were approached as a strategic asset, rather than simply a networking activity?

The answer being developed is a new category: Executive Relationship Intelligence.

GrandClave is designed to help family offices, investors and enterprise organisations build, manage and strengthen strategic executive relationships that can lead to measurable commercial outcomes.

The thinking behind it is grounded in a simple observation. The right relationship, at the right time, can open a market, accelerate a partnership, create an investment opportunity, unlock expertise or change the trajectory of a business. Yet the value of those relationships is often difficult to structure, measure or develop intentionally.

GrandClave is being developed to explore what a more deliberate approach could look like.

Testing before scaling

The first stage is deliberately small.

From 8 September 2026, a three-week outreach programme will begin with 30 carefully selected Founding Partners across three tiers. These will include organisations operating across areas such as family offices, investment firms, private capital, enterprise businesses and other organisations where senior-level relationships can have significant strategic value.

The objective is not simply to introduce GrandClave.

It is to listen, challenge the proposition and test the thinking with the people who could ultimately use, influence or help shape the category.

Each organisation will be invited to a confidential 45-minute Executive Relationship Discovery Session.

These conversations are intended to explore how organisations currently develop strategic relationships, where opportunities are being missed, what makes an executive relationship commercially valuable and whether GrandClave can solve a meaningful problem.

The insight gathered will directly inform the next phase of development.

Making the test commercially real

There is another strategic decision behind this launch: test the infrastructure alongside the proposition.

GrandClave is being developed with the support of a long-standing relationship with its hosting company. Because of that relationship, I have been able to secure a 60-day money-back guarantee, creating an opportunity to test the platform and proposition in the real world without prematurely committing to a long-term infrastructure decision.

That matters.

Good strategic development is not only about testing an idea. It is about creating enough flexibility to learn, adapt and make better decisions before scaling.

The combination of a tightly defined Founding Partner group, confidential discovery conversations and a limited testing window creates precisely that environment.

What the first 30 Founding Partners will help determine

The next stage of GrandClave should not be shaped by assumption.

It should be shaped by evidence.

The conversations beginning this September will help test several fundamental questions:

  • Is Executive Relationship Intelligence a sufficiently valuable and distinct category?
  • Which organisations have the strongest need for it?
  • What commercial outcomes matter most?
  • What should GrandClave provide beyond introductions and traditional networking?
  • How should strategic relationships be developed, managed and measured?
  • What needs to be built before the proposition can scale?

The goal is not to prove that every initial assumption is correct.

The goal is to discover which assumptions deserve to survive.

The strategic move

GrandClave is therefore more than a new venture being launched.

It is a live strategic experiment in category creation, relationship intelligence and commercial value creation.

The first 30 Founding Partners will play an important role in that experiment. Their perspectives will help shape what GrandClave becomes, how the category develops and where the opportunity genuinely exists.

For me, that is the value of building in public selectively: not revealing everything, but creating the right conditions to learn before scaling.

The first conversations begin 8 September 2026.

The next chapter of GrandClave will be shaped by what those conversations reveal.
