Exploring Mission Kitchen’s flexible talent ecosystem offers an opportunity to contribute operational, events and member engagement expertise while connecting with exciting food entrepreneurs and extending my private dining interests.
I’m exploring an opportunity to work with Mission Kitchen in London, bringing together the operational expertise, events planning and member engagement experience I’ve developed across my corporate, charity and entrepreneurial career.
What particularly interests me is Mission Kitchen’s recognition that talented people can contribute in different ways. Its flexible approach to building a talent pool ecosystem creates multiple opportunities to get involved, which feels particularly relevant to me at this stage.
I have multiple initiatives underway, so flexibility matters. At the same time, I’m always interested in being around ambitious entrepreneurs, exchanging ideas and understanding the environments in which businesses are being built and grown.
Mission Kitchen offers something different again: the opportunity to engage with food entrepreneurs and the wider food startup ecosystem.
That feels especially timely given my growing interest in private dining and curated experiences. I can see potential synergies between my own private dining initiatives and Mission Kitchen’s events programme, whether through event planning, facilitation, community engagement or creating experiences that bring entrepreneurs together.
There is also something quite fitting about the photograph accompanying this post.
I’m pictured with Levi Roots, the chef, food entrepreneur and entrepreneur behind Reggae Reggae Sauce, who secured investment from Peter Jones on Dragons’ Den. The photograph was taken at the after-conference event at the InterContinental Hotel in Mayfair, following the Entrepreneurs 2012 / Leaders First event at ExCeL London, where I was part of a panel at this large-scale event.
More than a decade later, it feels interesting to find myself considering how I can contribute to the next generation of food entrepreneurs in the UK.
My experience has always sat at the intersection of people, commercial growth, operations, relationships and creating opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to move forward. Mission Kitchen could provide another environment in which those capabilities can be put to work while I continue developing my own ventures.
I think it would be fantastic to be part of this ecosystem and see where the opportunity leads.
