Exploring why brands should work with experienced 50+ talent to create authentic business, travel and lifestyle content that connects with an increasingly influential audience seeking experiences.
I have recently been exploring another dimension of my professional development: Business UGC and video content creation for brands.
For me, this is not about becoming an influencer or chasing follower numbers. It is about recognising where I naturally fit within a changing content landscape—and exploring how my experience, personality, professional credibility and lifestyle can create something useful for brands.
I am a Generation X woman, born in 1975, with more than 25 years of professional and entrepreneurial experience, an MBA, a career spanning business, property, corporate environments and entrepreneurship, and a life that has taken me to numerous cities and countries around the world.
That combination creates an interesting proposition.
I am both the talent and the target customer.
The opportunity within the youthful 50+ market
There is a significant audience of people in their 50s and beyond who remain professionally active, commercially engaged, curious, ambitious and interested in discovering new places, products, services and experiences.
Yet much contemporary social content continues to skew towards younger demographics.
That creates an opportunity for brands willing to think differently.
The youthful 50+ audience should not automatically be represented through stereotypical ideas of ageing. Many people in this demographic are travelling, investing, building businesses, changing careers, embracing technology, enjoying hospitality, buying luxury products, exploring wellness and seeking new experiences.
They also have something particularly valuable: spending power and life experience.
This is where I believe my own profile can add something different.
I can bring an experienced professional perspective while still creating content that feels contemporary, energetic and relevant.
Why work with me?
My experience is not limited to being in front of a camera.
I understand business.
I understand positioning.
I understand customers.
I understand commercial relationships.
I understand what it means to build a brand and communicate an opportunity.
And I understand that effective content needs to do more than simply look good. It needs to have a purpose.
Whether that purpose is creating awareness, demonstrating a product, showcasing a destination, communicating an experience or helping a potential customer imagine themselves using a service, the content needs to connect the brand proposition with the audience.
My international experience also gives me a natural library of stories and perspectives.
From Chicago and New York to Grand Cayman, Cyprus, Paris and Milan, every location I have visited has taught me something different about people, places, culture, business and experiences.
The image accompanying this article reflects that journey: a collage of me over the years and across different countries.
Those experiences are part of the story I can bring to content creation.
The brands I would particularly like to hear from
I am particularly interested in working with brands operating within:
- Travel
- Hotels and hospitality
- Tourism
- Airlines and travel services
- Restaurants and dining
- Luxury lifestyle
- Fashion
- Beauty
- Experiences and experiential businesses
- Premium consumer services
I am especially interested in businesses that recognise the commercial opportunity within the youthful 50+ market and want content that reflects this audience authentically rather than treating it as an afterthought.
That could mean a destination video, hotel experience, restaurant review-style content, product demonstration, lifestyle campaign, talking-head business content, testimonial-style video or a more creative concept developed around the brand.
I am also open to businesses outside these categories where there is a strong connection between the product, service and audience.
Building my portfolio while developing another professional skill
I have recently added myself to the roster of talent management firms that focus on bridging the gap between brands and talent.
I am also actively exploring video content creation and developing my own Business Video Content packages, giving businesses an opportunity to work with me directly.
For me, this is both a commercial opportunity and a professional development opportunity.
We are all still learning.
I have spent decades developing professional, strategic, commercial and entrepreneurial skills, but that does not mean the learning stops. In fact, I believe multiplying your skillset is one of the most important ways to remain relevant.
Developing my on-camera capability, understanding the mechanics of contemporary content creation and building a portfolio of brand work gives me another layer of professional credibility.
It also connects naturally with other areas of my work.
I am an AI-native solo founder, I am developing new ventures, and I am bringing Nifty, my debut novel, towards the screen. Developing stronger on-camera and content-production capabilities can only strengthen that wider journey.
But what about your brand?
This is the bigger question.
Whether you decide to work with me or not, what are you doing to differentiate yourself in an increasingly crowded market?
There are more businesses creating content than ever before.
More people are building personal brands.
More companies are producing videos.
More AI-generated content is entering the marketplace.
So simply producing more content is not necessarily the answer.
The opportunity is to create content that has a clear point of view, understands its audience and gives people a reason to stop, watch, remember and ultimately take action.
That requires strategy.
It requires knowing who you are trying to reach.
It requires understanding what makes your proposition different.
And increasingly, it requires people who can communicate naturally and credibly on camera.
That is the space I am exploring.
If your brand is looking for experienced, professional 50+ talent who can combine business understanding, international experience, entrepreneurial thinking and on-camera content creation, I would be interested in hearing from you.
And if you are a founder, executive or business owner wondering how to differentiate your own brand, that is a conversation I can help you explore too.
